It’s been over a year since we moved to LA and it’s definitely starting to feel like home. Well, I should rephrase that – Santa Monica/Venice area feels like home. There are parts of LA I know well, but I am always astonished by how many neighborhoods there are still have left to discover.
We were originally gonna spend the fourth in San Diego but we have so much travel coming up this month, so we decided to stay put and explore some of those neighborhoods we don’t often get a chance to! I’ve heard rave reviews about Bestia
, so we decided to wander around the Arts District before dinner.
I’d give you some street names to check out, but I feel like this is one of those areas where the best thing to do is to just get lost somehow. Every street has a unique feel to it and if you love street art, this is definitely the place to go. Don’t be surprised to see a little Shepard Fairey here and there. There’s also this insane electric guitar player that wanders these streets – I thinks he’s a staple around there and you’ll definitely run into him. He’s a little kookoo, but entertaining for sure. We went into Poketo
and bought a couple of cool mugs, they also have the best cards!
After a few hours of wandering, we were rewarded with a BOMB dinner at Bestia. Can’t believe it’s taken us over a year to go to this place. Note: make resos, the wait is INSANE, literally around the block when they opened.
