Life got to me a few weeks ago. I felt like I didn’t have enough time, felt defeated and exhausted to be honest. I work full time, have a pretty demanding job, a husband and a cat (sigh), so it doesn’t leave me with much time to feel fulfilled creatively. This month I had a lot of travel and I think that was part of my anxiety – it was giving me even less time to pursue some of the things I’ve been wanting to do. I read my monthly horoscope (if you don’t read susan miller, you’re missing out!) and immediately felt better – July was meant for de-stressing, spending time with great friends, and that all my creative ideas would come to fruition in August, so just relax. And so that’s what I did.

Last weekend I was in Kelowna for a bachelorette, it’s about a 3-4 hours drive from Vancouver. The Canadian Hamptons or Napa if you will. All my besties live in other cities, so spending 4 hours in a car catching up, is absolute heaven to me. Bouncing ideas off each other, laughing till it hurts, and the obligatory i-miss-you-so-much cry, was exactly what I needed. There is nothing I cherish more about my core crew than the real talk I get out of it. No bullshit, no beating around the bush. Friends can be supportive and all but nothing quite proves that then a friend saying “hey have you thought of this” or “no, I would look at it this way” or “what’s your end goal and how can I help”. During one of these life chats, my friend Lish introduced me to Gary Vee and now I am obsessed. I can do all the things I want to do, cause if I want it badly enough, I will always make time. The time is now and eff being tired. I hate that this has become a basic quote but it really is true: I have just as many hours in a day as the Queen, Bey. So maybe I just needed a break, maybe it was Gary Vee, or maybe it was creating new memories with an old friend…but I am buzzing creatively and I am finally going to start my podcast, which is something I have been wanting to do for the last six months. I am fired up – stay tuned!
