I decided less than two weeks ago to come visit my family in Belgium. I spent hours trying to find tickets that were reasonably priced but unfortunately with the short notice, no luck. The only decent option I could find was flying into Paris – and well, you don’t have to twist my arm. A good friend of mine also happened to be there, so win win. The stars were aligning.
After an easy red-eye with Norwegian Air (I highly recommend this airline ps), I landed in Paris and made my way over to Montmarte, to meet my friend, Bree. You might remember her from a post I wrote a few months ago – she’s magic. We were suppose to stay in a cute airbnb but the a-hole owner messed up his dates, or didn’t have a cleaner come. I forget, but either way – we were homeless at 4pm on a Sunday in Paris. Could have a been a pretty stressful situation but I was with an energy guru soo that helped. “What is the blessing?”, she kept asking. And blessed we were – we found a small airbnb with a spectacular view, about a 10 mins walk from where we were stranded. Martin, our airbnb host, was facetiming us to let us in with a code. We opened the door and were so excited to see our home for the next few days! We got to the stairway. “Ok, so where is the elevator?”. Martin started laughing “ah non, ther is non eli-va-tar, yew have to go ep with tee stairs”. Seven Parisian Floors. SEVEN. Note: I overpacked, by a lot a lot. Determined to see that gorgeous view, we hung up on Martin and slowly made our way up. We arrived to the rooftop condo, sweating and puffing, more like hyperventilating, but we found our little slice of heaven -we found our blessing. I will write another post regarding what to see/do in Montmarte with more pics, including the view 😉 Stay tuned!
